Keying can be either Direct from a push button or Indirect through the bike's PTT system via a Kennedy Interface. Why the difference?
Direct keying is required if:
Your bike does not have an OEM PTT system already installed.
You need to alternately operate the bike's OEM two way radio (CB) and another two way radio device.
You want separate keying capability for both radios.
Indirect keying may be used if:
Your bike has an OEM PTT system installed and you will not operate the bike's OEM two way radio and another two way radio at the same time.
If both the bike's OEM two way audio and the alternate two way radio are turned "on", both will key when you press the bike's OEM PTT (unless you physically disconnect the PTT connector from the alternative radio).
